The following are just a few of our ideas:

Plexi kickplate for bottom of door

Plexiglass screwed to the lower portion of doors is an inexpensive way to create your own kick plate.

swing free hinged door Two design ideas are shown on the left. The first is the swing-free door hinges that remove an open door totally from the doorway, thereby providing additional clearance space.

The less obvious idea is the pull attached to the hinge side of the door. This allows you to easily close the door behind you from a wheelchair or standing.stacked laundry unit

Can't get to the basement and there's no room for a side-by-side washer and dryer on the main floor? Try a stacked unit. (The employee participants of GE Medical ECCO program donated ours).

Make sure the controls are reachable from a seated position! dryer door with magnetic lock

An industrial strength magnet makes opening the dryer door easy from a seated position.
